Flights to Tallinn, Estonia

With Estonia admission to the Schengen area in 2007, flights to Tallinn almost doubled: nowadays Tallinn Airport registers a passenger traffic of more than 2.2 million, in comparison with 1.2 in 2005. This increasing, in the number of passengers that every year decide to fly to Tallinn, led to a modernization and enlargement of the airport named after the former president Meri, promoter of the national independence. Tallinn Airport – Lennart Meri is the main Estonian airport, reachable by plane with flights operated by different airlines, both international – such as Finnair and Lufthansa – and low cost, such as EasyJet and Ryanair.

Recent renovation turned Lennart Meri Ülemiste International Airport into a modern and efficient hub featuring a commercial area with shops, bars and restaurants, in addition to Wi-Fi connection covering the entire airport.

It is the only airport dedicated to international flights to Estonia and it is mostly used to connect European countries: Tallinn airport is the hub of the national airline Estonian Air and other little airlines such as Avies and FlyLal Charters.

The main international routes are covered by Estonian Air and low cost airlines. The national airline offers Rome-Tallinn, Barcelona-Tallinn, Copenhagen-Tallinn, Vienna-Tallinn flights, but even many deals for flights from Prague to Tallinn. EasyJet operates flights on the route London-Tallinn, while Ryanair from Dublin, Oslo and Stockholm. Then, Lufthansa covers important business routes between Frankfurt-Tallin, Munich-Tallin and Finnair from Helsinki to Tallinn.

The closest hotel to Tallin Airport is the 4-star Hotel Ülemiste, few minutes on foot both from the airport and the huge Ülemiste mall.
